Implantación de un sistema de producción agrícola y ganadero (porcino) vinculado a estrategias nutricionales con variedades de sorgo y centeno adaptadas al cambio climático (AGRONUTRICC).

Realización de proyectos piloto innovadores por parte de Grupos Operativos de la Asociación Europea para la Innovación (AEI) en materia de productividad y sostenibilidad agrícolas.

El objetivo del proyecto AGRONUTRICC es trabajar en la implantación de un sistema más sostenible de producción porcina, vinculado a estrategias nutricionales a partir de piensos reformulados con variedades mejoradas de cereales (sorgo y centeno) más adecuadas para ser cultivadas en condiciones de cambio climático, y que permitan documentar y generar conocimiento sobre la reducción de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero en los sistemas de producción porcina intensiva actuales.

El proyecto AGRONUTRICC se plantea con un plan de ejecución de cuatro actividades:

• ACTIVIDAD 1. SELECCIÓN DE VARIEDADES DE CENTENO HÍBRIDO Y SORGO BLANCO, PRODUCCIÓN Y ESCALADO A CAMPO, ACTUALIZACIÓN DE LA MATRIZ DE FORMULACIÓN, FORMULACIÓN DE DIETAS Y PROGRAMA DE ALIMENTACIÓN SOSTENIBLE PARA CERDOS DE ENGORDE.
• ACTIVIDAD 2. ESTUDIO DEL IMPACTO DE LA UTILIZACIÓN DE NUEVAS VARIEDADES DE CEREALES (CENTENO HÍBRIDO Y/O SORGO BLANCO) EN LAS DIETAS PARA CERDOS DE ENGORDE SOBRE LA SALUD Y LA EFICIENCIA PRODUCTIVA.
• ACTIVIDAD 3. RENDIMIENTO DE LA CANAL, CALIDAD DE LA CARNE Y EFICIENCIA EN EL MATADERO ASOCIADA A LA UTILIZACIÓN DE NUEVAS VARIEDADES DE CEREALES (CENTENO HÍBRIDO Y/O SORGO BLANCO) EN LAS DIETAS PARA CERDOS DE ENGORDE.
• ACTIVIDAD 4. CÁLCULO DE LA HUELLA DE CARBONO ASOCIADA A LA PRODUCCIÓN Y UTILIZACIÓN DE NUEVAS VARIEDADES DE CEREALES (CENTENO HÍBRIDO Y/O SORGO BLANCO) EN LAS DIETAS PARA CERDOS DE ENGORDE (DESDE EL CAMPO HASTA EL MATADERO).
• ACTIVIDAD 5. TRANSFERENCIA DE RESULTADOS Y ACCIONES DE DIFUSIÓN.

Todas las actividades planteadas en AGRONUTRICC están interconectadas con el objetivo de que la información generada a partir de la interacción entre el campo, la fábrica de piensos y la granja retroalimente la toma de decisiones, permita realizar los cálculos correspondientes al ciclo de vida y ayude a extraer conclusiones y recomendaciones para las empresas beneficiarias y el sector, provenientes de condiciones reales de campo supervisadas y ejecutadas con rigor y método científico.

Implementation of an agricultural and livestock (pork) production system linked to nutritional strategies using climate change-adapted varieties of sorghum and rye (AGRONUTRICC)

Carrying out innovative pilot projects by Operational Groups of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) in the field of agricultural productivity and sustainability.

The objective of the AGRONUTRICC project is to work on the implementation of a more sustainable pig production system, linked to nutritional strategies using feeds reformulated with improved varieties of cereals (sorghum and rye) that are better suited to be grown under changing climatic conditions. The project aims to document and generate knowledge on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in current intensive pig production systems.

The AGRONUTRICC project is planned with a four-activity implementation plan:

• ACTIVITY 1. SELECTION OF HYBRID RYE AND WHITE SORGHUM VARIETIES, PRODUCTION AND FIELD SCALING, UPDATING THE FORMULATION MATRIX, FORMULATION OF DIETS, AND SUSTAINABLE FEEDING PROGRAM FOR FATTENING PIGS.
• ACTIVITY 2. STUDYING THE IMPACT OF USING NEW CEREAL VARIETIES (HYBRID RYE AND/OR WHITE SORGHUM) IN DIETS FOR FATTENING PIGS ON HEALTH AND PRODUCTIVE EFFICIENCY.
• ACTIVITY 3. CARCASS YIELD, MEAT QUALITY, AND EFFICIENCY AT THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF NEW CEREAL VARIETIES (HYBRID RYE AND/OR WHITE SORGHUM) IN DIETS FOR FATTENING PIGS.
• ACTIVITY 4. CALCULATION OF THE CARBON FOOTPRINT ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF NEW CEREAL VARIETIES (HYBRID RYE AND/OR WHITE SORGHUM) IN DIETS FOR FATTENING PIGS (FROM THE FIELD TO THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE).
• ACTIVITY 5. RESULTS TRANSFER AND DISSEMINATION ACTIONS.

All the activities proposed in AGRONUTRICC are interconnected with the aim of ensuring that the information generated from the interaction between the field, the feed factory, and the farm informs decision-making, allows for lifecycle calculations, and helps draw conclusions and recommendations for the beneficiary companies and the sector based on rigorously supervised and scientifically executed field conditions.
